Ottawa born Emmanuelle comes from a rather unique background of contemporary dance training paralleled with years of activity in the street dance world. As one of Canada’s most prominent b-girls, Emmanuelle, aka B- girl Cleopatra, has competed in and won breaking competitions throughout Canada, the US and Sweden. She has been featured in music videos: K-OS, Yelle, Calvin Harris – commercials, dance films and often performs with Cirque Du Soleil Special Events. With her extensive knowledge of various street styles, and her schooling in contemporary dance, she gradually developed her own style of experimental dance. Having obtained her BFA in contemporary dance from Montreal’s Concordia University, she pursued her ambition by cofounding Solid State Breakdance Collective and dancing for Rubberbandance Group.
In 2005, Emmanuelle was part of Cirque Du Soleil’s creation of The Beatles LOVE Show working with choreographer Dave St-Pierre and performing in Las Vegas for 2 years. In 2009, she joined Cirque Eloize, working with choreographer Mourad Merzouki, in the creation and touring of ID a hip-hop/circus show. She returned to work with Rubberbandance for the Gravity of Center production and occasionally dances for the Bboyizm Dance Company.
Emmanuelle remains active in the street dance community by battling in break and all-style categories representing her all-female Legendary Crew and has been judging break and experimental battles in the past year.
